Regular Run Schedule
Rain or shine, the Far Runners are out hitting the pavements and trails in and around Faringdon! We run together at least three times a week, featuring guided group runs on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, plus guided weekend runs on Sunday mornings. Tuesday Runs
On Tuesdays we run two group sessions, both starting at the same time and from the same location. You can choose between a shorter, steadier route or a longer, more challenging one, giving you the freedom to match the run to your energy and goals each week. Our routes change regularly and make the most of Faringdon’s mix of pavements, tarmac, trails and cross‑country paths — and of course, the hills that come with the territory.
To help you plan ahead, we share the route details in advance through our usual communication channels. That way you can decide which option suits you best and arrive feeling ready for a great run with a supportive group.
*Though our regular meeting point is by the Old Town Hall on the Market Square, we may relocate to behind the Library during Spring and Summer months, when the Square is otherwise in use.

Thursday Runs
Anything Can Happen Thursday (ACHT) lives up to its name, offering a fun and varied session designed to help you develop your running skills. Each week brings something different — from hill repeats and sprints to Fartlek sessions and other progressive drills — all aimed at building strength, speed and confidence. We like to keep things fresh, challenge you in new ways and make sure there’s plenty of enjoyment along the way.
ACHT is suitable for all runners, regardless of experience, because the focus is on effort rather than covering long distances. Sessions are typically shorter but more purposeful, giving you the chance to push yourself at your own level within a supportive group. It’s a great way to add variety to your training and take your running to the next stage.
Sunday Runs
On Sundays we aim to offer three different group runs: a shorter route, a medium option and a longer outing. All of them head a little further afield to make the most of the beautiful countryside surrounding Faringdon. Depending on the week, you might find yourself exploring Badbury Clump, Littleworth, Fernham Woods, the D’Arcy Dalton Way or the tracks around Smokedown Farm.
Wherever we go, the focus is on enjoying new scenery and good company. These Sunday sessions are a great chance to stretch your legs, discover fresh routes and spend time with fellow runners at a relaxed, social pace. The variety keeps things interesting and gives everyone the chance to choose a distance that suits their weekend plans.
From time to time, our usual Sunday runs are swapped for Far Runners On Tour — special outings that take us to a different town or village within Oxfordshire. These tours typically happen on a Saturday or Sunday and offer a fun change of scene, often introducing completely new terrain to explore. Full details are always shared in advance through our regular communication channels so you can plan ahead and join the adventure.
